I would like to make a map like stench, the map has other doors and geometry, and I have 2 problems:

-I do not know how to make a door
-I do not know how to apply a texture to a wall

EDIT: now i know how to do these

Do you know how to set brightness in quake 2 (with GtkRadiant)? Since yesterday all my maps are bright as hell and none of the lights i added work (all the map is light). There is also no shadows, and weapon light effects don't work. I am new at making quake 2 maps, so i think i just accidently changed something. If i find a way to fix that i will be able to upload all of my maps to somewhere (they are good). Thanks.

the whole map is lighted.. this happens to me TOO.. i think it's because of mapping tool. i will try with another one and check if it happens again (sometime.. else, you can try using QuArK)

I tryed quark but whole map is lighted anyway. The only map editor that may help is qoole 99, but in quake 2 it is bugged and not loading the textures correctly. I'll try if its possible to use it just for chaning map brightness and lights.

lol. what convertor do you use? (from .map to .bsp)

Post subject:  Re: map

Well, i wasn't using any converter. I was just using Build or Compile function built into many editors. I looked throw some .map to .bsp converters but they doesnt have anything about map lightness too. GtkRadiant has some build options named NoVis, FastVis, FullVis, etc but all of them are giving the same effect :( . I think quark may fix that, but its hard to control it (too many functions and tools). After all, we need Pat or someone else who is good in that things to visit this topic and help us. :!:
