I think the demise of QuakeSrc was very bad for the GPL Quake community, particularly for Quake2 and Quake3. The Quake1 community has always been focused on Inside3D and a lot of other sites.
For Quake2 and Quake3, you have QuakeDev and PlanetQuake. A lots of big standalone project like Warsow, Tremulous, Alien Arena and Padman have their own community and websites.

You also have the mapping sites like the RUST or LevelMakers where you can find interesting resources and peoples.

But they didn't started a new "Quake Src", so, maybe is time to make it come back? There are still back ups of that (that I hope are still there)...

Just commenting..

Post Re: QuakeSrc.org archive index
Sorry to necro an old thread, but this felt like the most appropriate place to post this.

I miss all the old faces from Quakesrc, so I'm trying to gather everybody in one location. Right now, it looks like Inside3D is the most active Quake development community, so I think we should all try to congregate there. Yeah, most of that community is Quake1 oriented, but there's a lot of overlap. I think it would be better to have 1 thriving community covering all idtech engines/mods than have everything spread out. Maybe we can get the admins to add a Quake2-specific section.

Hope to see you there!
