I've just uploaded a new version with 2 Transporter truck bots patrolling from base to mine shaft, carrying energy and ore. Attachment: Online Demo : http://www.aftermoon.net/myproject2011/WIP-Demo.html |

Very interesting to see those little trucks coming and going. Perhaps if the other flying ships would attack them, and we had to defend them so we could get resources for improving our machines... (I'm sure you'll get to that eventually) Perhaps having them stop there (for 1 second?) would be better. But It's nice to see they work correctly and don't get stuck anywhere. Also, I'm happy to see that we spawn in some kind of "friendly" (more like neutral?) base now. Perhaps this could allow you to have battles between two armies (not involving the player(s))? |

It's fun to push the car far away and see it trying to get back (bullying allies). So far it looks cool but i like moving around as a character more than vehicle. |

But I will probably tweak the control a little again. I plan to increase acceleration and deceleration for forward movement and add backward movement. I want movement to stop when keys are released, like strafe works actually. Auto-run will be enabled by double clicking on the move forward key. We will test that... My goal is to give the sensation of First Person Shooter, with flying |

I think I prefer the idea of pressing the button to accelerate forward and backwards rather than increase or decrease speed. By the way (and this is just a curiosity) you know you can see the numbers through the structures right? On another note, and once you've run down through your week, I can point you to one game that might interest you. Other than that: just work for now. |

Fury3 is a small little game I used to play. You're a in a spaceship and you're tasked with going from planet to planet destroying the enemy. The game is quite simple and it does remind me of this, though with another orientation (there was only one friendly structure in all levels, which was the exit). You might want to look at it -- the movement works by faster slower (there is no stop, though), and you had to destroy certain objectives along the way. I had fun with that game. |
