Post Quake 2 for Mac OS X
Hi,

Is there any way I can play Quake 2 COOP on Mac OS X?

Currently, I use these versions of Quake for Mac:

Also, any chance of a Quake 1 COOP being made?

Thanks!

Sorry... but I doubt that's going to be doable. YOU KNOW HOW OLD IS QUAKE1? Like, there would be a bunch of work to do.

About quake 2 on Mac... Why not? There must be an engine somewhere, or something that lets you run the engine.

Psst. It's only one and a half year older than Quake 2.

Hey all! First post.

I'm trying to get coopordie to run in the Mac version of Quake. It has a frontend that allows me to put in custom command line parameters.

Knowing what I do about how coopordie and Quake II work, I put the following as a custom parameter
Code:
+set wsrv_url www.coopordie.com/quake2/rpc +set game coopordie +map pregame +bind o wsrv_login (my name) (my password)

and start up.

It boots QII and spits me out in to the pregame map, but when I hit "o" it only puts up
Code:
wsrv_login (my name) (my password)

as a chat.

Any thoughts as to how I can get this running?

Are you sure that you have opened coopordie? If it says that the command is a chat it means that the game (the mod, in this case coopordie) doesn't recognise the command wsrv_login so it makes it a chat.

I'm fairly sure the mod is open. I'm in a little room with a sign that says to type wsrv_login (name) (pass) in the console. I've tried that and it also shows up as a chat.

You can check what mod you are playing by typing "game" in console.
it should give message "game" is "coopordie".
if it really is running coop mod and not reconising the command i have no idea what to do.

I just followed your instruction and my console did indeed reply, "game" is "coopordie."

Bummer. Thanks for the replies. Any other help will be greatly appreciated.
